I am a New York City-based writer and editor who has spent a lot of time in New Orleans, where my first book, in part, takes place.
I started writing fiction at a very young age and soon turned to poetry, a habit that continued through my twenties in the form of self-indulgent rhyme about unrequited love.
Fortunately, most of that work remains hidden on the pages of journals I intend to one day shred.
I began The Coat Check Girl many moons ago and in 2009 won the Bronx Council on the Arts Chapter One Fiction competition. After putting it aside for several years, I picked it back up in 2018 and decided in earnest to finish it. I began querying in late 2019, then stopped when the world shut down in 2020. That summer, my wonderful agent reached out to me and we agreed to work together on another draft. In 2023, my book found a home with Roan & Weatherford’s Radiance imprint as part of a three-book series.
I am co-host of the podcast People Who Do Things, a series of conversations about the creative process. In addition to the sequel to The Coat Check Girl, I am currently collaborating on a screenplay and fantasizing about my next travel adventure. I live in Manhattan with my husband and dog.
